The Parable of the Facebook Message

It was like a tap had been turned off.

It was a dry riverbed with no life.

The circle of waiting was rolling and rolling and there was nothing coming through.

Finally like a digital dawn the phone sprung into action.

Every app update came through together like a digital tsunami of notifications.

But it wasn’t there …the message I had been waiting for was no where to be seen.

Every update, every mention was painful to watch flow by but there was nothing worth reading or even opening.

Then a flash of green, I thought I saw their avatar.

For what felt like forever I scrolled back and eventually there it was.

We had connected and everything else was no more.
