Handsworth-based Talents participants Fusion Youth Project harnessed the powers of creativity and community to turn their £10 into a whopping £98. When the £10 arrived from FYT the young people organised their own meeting to discuss how best to use it. Lots of creative ideas were suggested, but eventually they decided on a community fayre. Alongside traditional favourites such as the raffle and tombola, the young people also organised creative activities such as badge and card making. The local community came along and paid for each activity they took part in - helping to multiply the original talent by almost ten times! Youth worker Jane Barrett commented: 'The young people worked together positively and proved to themselves what can be achieved through teamwork, good communication and enthusiasm!' Fantastic. Thanks to all at Fusion - and the good people of Handsworth who came out and supported them!
