Giving through a Legacy

Your Legacy is FYT's Future

Many of FYT's supporters know of the struggles we have faced in the past years. During the last two years we have been devising a strategy to give FYT a firmer foundation without losing any of our principles. Part of this strategy is to encourage supporters to consider making a Legacy in their Will and encouraging friends, relatives and anyone else to do the same.

Seven out of ten people have yet to make a Will. A Will is a legal document, which enables you to divide your estate, after your death, in a way which you feel is appropriate. Without a Will the government decide how your estate should be divided. A Legacy is the part of the Will where you bequeath money to causes you have supported or would have liked to support whilst alive. By informing the charity that you have made a Legacy, that charity, in this case FYT, is able to predict an income for the future giving the confidence that our important work in helping those who provide a desperately needed service to young people will continue.

 

As supporters you know and understand the value of the work that FYT is called to. With God's help FYT has kept going for thirty-five years and recent campaigns have highlighted the need for our work to continue. For many of those years we have lived from hand to mouth and have been unable to plan ahead as much as we should have done. A Legacy is one of the largest gifts anyone will make and even though it doesn't immediately affect your bank balance, FYT will benefit straight away from knowing that a Legacy has been made.
